
• Medical First Aid
This course is held regularly from September to June – additional courses can be given by special arrangement.
This is an MCA approved course which meets the mandatory requirements for Seafarers who are designated to provide Medical First Aid on Board Ship or for those who are seeking to gain Certificates of Competency. The course covers the principles, priorities and management of first aid, basic life support, structure of the human body, care of the rescued casualty and treatment of infections and diseases, enabling an effective response to medical emergencies in the event of injury or illness.
Standard: STCW95 A-VI/4-1
Entry requirements: Candidates must be 16 or more years of age.
Issue of certificate: Students are assessed during Practical Exercises and via a Multiple Choice Examination Paper.
Certification Body: Maritime and Coastguard Agency , UK
MCA reapproval October 2011 for a further 5 years.
Course fee: € 650 (€ 585 when paid more than 2 weeks in advance)
